Embraer Begins Deliveries of the Praetor 600E

The Praetor 600E is now in service. Embraer delivered the first aircraft on September 18, 2026, about five months after the jet earned triple certification in April, and the next-generation super-midsize is now moving from the factory to operators.

The first operator is Flexjet, which took delivery in Melbourne, Florida,as fleet launch customer. Its aircraft arrived with Embraer's most talked-aboutcabin option on board: the 42-inch Smart Window. For anyone tracking thesuper-midsize segment, the 600E is no longer a brochure promise but an aircraftflying real missions.

The aircraft

Embraer unveiled the Praetor 600E alongside the Praetor 500E in February 2026. The 600E earned triple certification from ANAC, the FAA and EASA in April2026; the 500E followed in June.

The headline number is range: 4,018 nm (7,441 km) with four passengers and NBAA IFR reserves. That puts nonstop city pairs such as London–New York and São Paulo–Miami within reach, and Embraer markets it as the farthest-flying super-midsize jet in the world.

Embraer says the 600E remains the only super-midsize jet with full fly-by-wire and active turbulence reduction, and that it operates comfortably from demanding airports such as Ocean Reef and Santa Monica.

Much of what made the first-generation Praetor 600 successful carries over unchanged: the same range, the same HTF7500E engines, the class-leading baggage compartment and the 5,800 ft cabin altitude. The E-model's story is about what happens inside.

Inside the cabin

The biggest change is inside. The Praetor 600E is the first certified jet to offer Embraer's Smart Window, and Flexjet chose it, from several optional upgrades, for its first aircraft. The 42-inch 4K OLED touchscreen replaces part of the sidewall in the second cabin zone. It handles video calls, high-resolution streaming and gaming, and doubles as a virtual window fed by three externally mounted cameras. Paired with the optional divan, it turns that zone into a meeting room or a screening room.

Flexjet sees the feature as a response to a shift in its customer base. CEO Michael Silvestro noted that its owners are trending younger and "want the cabin to become part of the experience."

The rest of the cabin has been rethought as well:

  • Seating: new Embraer-designed lie-flat seats with more headroom, electric assist, a lounge position for long legs, and faster conversion to berths for rest.
  • Cabin Management System: redesigned controls for lighting, temperature, entertainment and connectivity, with options for voice command, Bluetooth audio, wireless charging and RGB mood lighting.
  • Galley: larger, with more stowage for extended missions.
  • Connectivity: Ka-band, elevated upper tech panels.
  • Comfort details: stone flooring, a vacuum lavatory with full rear vanity, and what Embraer describes as the largest baggage compartment in the class.

A partnership built over two decades

Flexjet and Embraer have worked together since 2003, and Flexjet has a habit of going first. It launched the Legacy Executive in 2003, the Phenom 300in 2010 and the Legacy 450 in 2016, and was fleet launch customer for the original Praetor 500 and Praetor 600 in 2019.

In February 2025, the two companies signed an agreement worth up to USD 7 billion: a firm order for 182 aircraft across the Praetor 600E, Praetor 500E and Phenom 300E, options on 30 more, and an expanded services and support package. Flexjet is already taking Phenom 300E deliveries and, according to FLYING Magazine, expects to receive a dozen aircraft in 2026. Its first Praetor500E is due in the fourth quarter of 2026, which will make it fleet launch customer for that model too.

Silvestro described the delivery as the latest chapter in a relationshipthat has run for more than twenty years.

What it means for buyers and owners

With the 600E now in service, buyers considering a super-midsize jet have a new reference point. The range and fly-by-wire carry over as strengths, while the cabin technology is the clearest step up from the previous generation.

For current Praetor 600 owners, the arrival of the E-model raises afamiliar question: upgrade, or hold. For buyers, it widens the choice between a new 600E and a pre-owned Praetor 600 or competing super-midsize aircraft.
